In 2017 David was named Email Marketer Thought Leader of the Year by the eec/DMA. According to Direct Magazine, David Daniels is "one of the most influential experts in email marketing, if not the most influential."
David launched The Relevancy Group in January 2010, shortly after David left his role as Vice President and Principal Analyst at Forrester Research. Prior to Forrester's acquisition of JupiterResearch in 2008, David served as the lead Email Marketing Analyst and ultimately as Vice President and Research Director for almost a decade. In this role, David ran Jupiter's operations and industry analyst teams, which represented one third of the JupiterResearch business. David was the first analyst to cover the Email Service Provider sector and coined the phrase "ESP." It is only fitting as that the online marketing analyst, David, started marketing on the commercial Internet in 1988. David has decades of experience in building on brands and strategies.
David is co-author of the book Email Marketing An Hour A Day which has been translated into five languages and continues to be distributed worldwide by Wiley Publishing in a variety of formats.
A tenured marketer, public speaker, industry analyst and consultant, David has held senior level positions at Apple, Urban Outfitter's Anthropologie, Micro/MacWarehouse (now CDW), Genesis Direct, ProTeam (think GSI and Fanatics) and the earliest 1988 stores on CompuServe, including CDA Computer Sales, which was one of the first online merchants in the 1980's.
In 2013 David created The Marketer Quarterly, LLC, a publishing business and digital magazine that launched in January 2014. David serves as President and Publisher of The Marketer Quarterly, 'the digital magazine by marketers for marketers' that reaches millions of marketers around the world.
David's focus on consumer behavior and establishing online trust and security is evident in his Strategic Board Advisor Role with the Online Trust Alliance. David advises the programming committee of events including the email experience council's email evolution event as well as the media business that is The Marketer Quarterly.
David is a father, musician, writer and football fan (The New York Football Giants). When not on the road (about half of the year); David spends his time in Boston, Cape Cod and the NJ Shore.
